The future belongs to the free arts
WassinkLundgren has recently been selected by the likes of Andreas Gursky and Thomas Seelig as one of the ‘Artists with huge potential’. The NRW-Forum shows in their ’State of the Art’ exhibition how a new generation of photographers is rediscovering their own medium and the ways of presentation. ‘The future does not belong to pure photography, but to the free arts,’ as Andreas Gursky puts it.
An installation of Tokyo Tokyo is currently on show at the museum.
A history of the Dutch photobook
Meanwhile in the Netherlands, Tokyo Tokyo is singled out as one of the important highlights of the last 65 years of Dutch photobook publishing. A more historical viewpoint, you could say. The exhibition at the Dutch Photo Museum in Rotterdam will be on show until the 20th of May 2012.
This Saturday will also see the launch of the publication ’The Dutch Photobook’. Published by NAi, this publication includes the 120 most important photo books that have emerged from the Netherlands since 1945.
Just a few copies left…
As a consequence of the overwhelming attention for Tokyo Tokyo, the books all have gone except for a few. However, there are still some limited editions available. The limited edition of Tokyo Tokyo includes two signed and numbered gyclee prints, housed in a beautiful and elegant slipcase. For more information or to purchase your copy, please have a look here:
