For nine years, he had an international career working in editorial, on various advertising campaigns, and for major record labels with artists such as Björk, Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis & Blur.

At times were photographers were under the pressure of increasing demands, he formed a creative partnership with Pedro Aguilar. Simultaneously, opportunities in different markets were emerging, such as within the luxury brand sector. After 12 years working with people based subjects, Diver & Aguilar decided to get into still life photography.

Morad Bouchakour (1963) is son of an Algerian father and a Dutch mother. His father came to Amsterdam to seek his fortune here. He found a small number of compatriots in the sixties and seventies and formed a close group. Morad Bouchakour is looking for first-generation Algerians to portray them and to interview about their dreams and desires at the time, their integration in a city like Amsterdam and their selfimage at an older age. The close-ups, environmental portraits and interviews will form a triptych.

Diver and Aguilar’s series Caravaggio selected in the Commissioned Editorial for the AOP Awards Exhibition & Book

28th AOP Photographers Awards

The Photographers Awards are regarded as the ultimate awards for professional photographers – a celebration of exceptional work by the industry’s elite.

In 2011 we made a couple of subtle changes to the awards categories. Reverting back to more classic genres with the re-introduction of the Non-Commissioned Portrait and the popular Non-commissioned Project categories. Building on last year’s inclusion of a moving image option, within the Innovation category, whilst looking to reflect the modifications that digital SLRs have made, we decided to create two solely ‘Moving Image’ Categories that generated a great deal of interest from the membership.

This year’s judges brought an exceptional level of knowledge, experience interest and passion to the judging. The AOP would like to thank them all for all their hard work, enthusiasm and for their much-appreciated support of the 28th Photographers Awards.

Diver & Aguilar were selected for both the Commercial Editorial Series & Singles categories, see more of their work here: http://dmbmedia.co.uk/artists/diver-aguilar/photography/
